Type and Cross

5.0 out of 5 stars—A nice trip outside my comfort zone
Troilo manages to avoid both pitfalls, choosing instead to depict realistically flawed characters. They are living, breathing characters that could jump off the page and sit down in your living room. There are no heroes, no villains, just ordinary people doing their best to keep it together in extraordinary circumstances… Troilo is a writer to keep your eye on.

Swallowing Memories

(Excerpts from responses in the comments section.)

CPENDLE: Powerful. I can feel her pain and disconnection with her family. I’ve seen it on my own family at times.

JESSICA SITA: Poignant. A piece of, a look into, a portrait of a lonely woman.

ANNE: Such a moving piece. The truth in it just guts you.

JOAN: Oh Staci, this made me cry.

Mystery, Ink: Mystery Heir

5.0 out of 5 stars—Superbly written mystery
It’s one thing to follow the formula of a cozy mystery, it’s quite another to pull it off effortlessly so the reader forgets about the reading and only remembers the characters’ dilemmas. In stories of this type, it’s not unusual for all the characters to be rather one-dimensional, but Troilo still managed to make me care about Naomi when she finds herself in terrifying situations she brought on herself.

Troilo achieves what all writers want to achieve. Her writing is flawless, her dialogue believable, and her development of the tensions and mystery of the case Naomi tries to solve creates a story that didn’t feel as if I was reading. I became lost in the travails of the twins.

5.0 out of 5 stars—My new favorite author
Staci Troilo knows how to keep mystery and suspense building in “Mystery Heir”, the fifth in the Mystery, Ink series.

5.0 out of 5 stars—A Must Read Mystery!
Staci Troilo is an excellent writer who is adept at creating multi-faceted characters that find themselves tangled in complicated situations. She writes a mystery that is interesting and compelling and keeps the reader guessing and scratching their heads, all the while carrying them to the end where she wraps it all up into a nice, neat bow.

5.0 out of 5 stars—Who doesn’t love a good mystery?
Mystery Ink, Mystery heir is a fast paced mystery that i couldn’t put down. All the characters have such depth and are very easy to relate to, especially Naomi and Penelope Dotson.

5.0 out of 5 stars—excellent mystery
I thought the author did a terrific job with it. I was guessing and thinking about who it could be right up until the end. There were a lot of suspects and even when they were eliminated as suspects, I kept right on suspecting. The supporting characters were just as great as the twins.
