This site is created by a writer (me), so if you landed here by accident looking for trolls (yes, because of my last name, I get that a lot), you’ve come to the wrong place. On this site, there are no trolls. None of the horrible Internet kind are welcome here, and please, no mean comments about my photo (or as my kids lovingly refer to it, my mug shot). If I choose to write about a troll at a later date, I’ll amend this entry to say that one troll is mentioned and I’ll include a link.
This site is devoted to all things writing.
- Writing techniques. You’ll find tips on grammar, plot, character development, dialogue, outlining… all things useful in improving your novels and short stories. (Some of the entries would be helpful for non-fiction writers, too.) For example, check out this post on visual outlining.
- Platforming. Also on this site will be entries related to social media topics. Some of the things discussed will be WordPress hints, ways to increase traffic to your site, guest blogging, and the benefits of other media (such as Facebook and Twitter). For example, check out this discussion on WordPress trackbacks. The post itself just showed my writerly frustrations (and my lack of knowledge of WordPress), but the dialogue in the comments is where things got interesting and we figured it all out.
- Niche Posts. I enjoy reading all sorts of fiction and non fiction. I even peruse the occasional graphic novel, although I’ve never purchased one. But, like every author, I have a genre or two that I love to write in. So sometimes I will have posts about the romance or mystery genres. Sometimes I’ll have posts about Italian Americans (my heritage, and the heritage of many of my characters). Sometimes I’ll have posts about the cities in which my novels are set, or I’ll come across something fascinating in my research that bears discussion. These posts might not have anything to do with you, but you might want to check them out anyway; you may be surprised at what tidbits you find. For example, look at this blog on Italian gardens.
